A BICYCLE FOR TWO
vicky give me your answer do
i'm half crazy all for the love of you
there won't be a stylish marriage
i cannot afford a fancy carriage
but you'll look sweet upon the seat
of a bicycle built for two....
once i was in love with a woman
who lived by the sea and near
the end of our time together
we bought a bicycle built for two
oh what fun we had riding up and
down the empty streets at night
and back and forth on quiet bike
paths at dawn
after the drinking of two bottles of
homemade sangria and eating olive oily
pasta from the pot our last morning
together was spent riding along the sea
late night rain left the sky clear
as crystal and three colorfully
sailed boats bobbled up and down
while buildings on a close by island
reflected the early light of the sun
as we slowly cruised a cobble stoned
road into an empty rv park a huge
wave hit a concrete seawall and
showered up into the air then down
onto our heads
we shouted and laughed and it was
a movie like ending to a love that
had been briefly rekindled by
buying a bicycle built for two
